Honestly, sometimes re-inventing the wheel doesn't make sense. There are plenty of good color selection skins which offer many great options (like copy and pasting color codes, either on RGB or HEX, RGB sliders, HSL sliders, screen color picker, etc) and that can be easily implemented in your skin. Even when one thinks "I only need the basic options", later on realizes that "this other option would be nice to have", only to find out that that other option which would be nice to have is a great pain in the heart to make (been there, done that).- What makes sense and what doesn't.
Obviously it's always nice to make things ourselves (that's how my HSLiders color selector was born), but to me it only makes sense when there's a problem to be solved.
