Dunno, for me it was enough to disable Edge once from the Startup tab of Task Manager and it didn't spam itself again there. I am allergic to such spamming too, but it's true that I also properly configure stuff when and after installation, so that also helps in avoiding this in some cases. Knowing what an entry is for is a mix of checking its location on the drive, comparing those lists before and after, and experience - just like with visiting shady sites online, not everyone is proficient at it. And since you mentioned the FreeVideoFlip&Rotate example, the name of the app itself raises the red flag for me. The two other parts installed could be either the app itself being bundled with adware, not unchecking stuff carefully at install, or not having a proper security solution to block the app going online and downloading stuff behind your back. Update: just installed that app, and no startup items added at all, by the way.
